I’m a widow. I’m a mom, grandma, sister, aunt, daughter and girlfriend. I am a fiber artist, a vocalist, lyricist, pet rescuer, radio station owner (streaming and non-profit), biker chick (cause I don’t drive – I won’t call myself a
motorcyclist), bit of a hippie, gardener, and I consider myself unique (it just sounds better than weird). I am a nut magnet – and I mean this in the nicest way.. I just attract crazy people… The nutjob at the transit station talking/yelling at a nearby bush?? Yep, that one will strike up with me once we’ve boarded the bus!! My kids say it’s because I give people eye contact. Well, maybe I’m old school. but I thought that was polite.
I knit, both custom and speculatively. I am an active member of Ravelry.com, and just find it to be the best tool ever for people like me.. BTW – Knitters don’t all look like your 80-year-old grandma anymore!! I spin yarn (though on a drop spindle for now as I had to sell my wheel last year in my quest for survival), and am going to learn to do the hand painted thing really soon! I love bartering!! I get excited each and every day when the mail arrives.. I get joy from mail.. WHAT? Not just snail mail either, I love email as well.. only not of the spam variety. I just love people I guess.
I’m going to do two things on this blog…#1 being to get some of the millions of stories I have of my interestingly tragic life out of my head. #2 being to post pictures and stories, tips and techniques that are fiber art related.
I was going to say, sit back and enjoy the ride… but I think you better buckle your seatbelt for this ride folks and keep your hands and arms inside the car!!
